Fertility Research and Practice is a peer-reviewed, open access, online journal, publishing articles that provide novel insights into male and female infertility and early pregnancy.
The areas of interest for Fertility Research and Practice include a broad range of topics comprising the study of human fertility and early pregnancy. These include diagnosis and correction of endometriosis, congenital and acquired abnormalities of the male and female reproductive tracts, reproductive infectious diseases, male and female fertility diagnostics, assisted reproductive techniques (ART), implantation and early pregnancy failure, pregnancy of unknown location, and sporadic and recurrent pregnancy loss.
BioMed Central is seeking to appoint an Editor-in-Chief to build submissions to the Journal and work strategically to expand the scope of the Journal.
The newly appointed Editor-in-Chief will have full editorial responsibility for the content published in the Journal and for ensuring that the ethos, editorial standards, policies and scope of Fertility Research and Practice are maintained. They will also be responsible for providing strategic guidance and overseeing the commissioning of non-research content.
The ideal candidates will be:
• Researchers with broad experience in fertility and reproductive health related to the aims and scope of the journal.
• Experienced as journal Editors, with strong critical analysis and appraisal skills, and a good understanding of peer review and publication ethics.
• Keen supporters of open access publishing.
• Able to demonstrate strong leadership.
• Excellent strategic planners with the ability to develop a clear vision for Fertility Research and Practice.
• Interested in building strong community relationships at all levels.
• Keen to innovate and continuously develop Fertility Research and Practice.
• Engaged with technology and willing to use the Journal’s online submission and peer review tools.
• Able to dedicate time on a regular basis to a busy and thriving journal.
Fertility Research and Practice is currently supported by an Editorial Office run by the publisher for administrative services, and is further supported by a committed Editorial Board. The position offers an honorarium, and whilst the time commitment is flexible, we anticipate the post-holder would also have a full-time position elsewhere.
